Spinal Decompression is Beneficial in Reducing Back Pain, Sciatica & Leg Weakness

Updated: Apr 9

A study was conducted involving patients reporting an average of 10 years of chronic lower back pain. Researchers found that following 2 weeks of decompression treatment; there was a 50% reduction in pain scores. After the completion of the 6 week protocol, success rates of 88.9% were documented.

Journal of Neuroimaging entitled MRI Evidence of Nonsurgical, Mechanical Reduction, Rehydration & Repair of the Herniated Lumbar Disc from April 1998 Vol. 8, NO.2, Edward L. Eyerman, MD.

They found that non-surgical decompression treatments resulted in: “All but 3 of 20 patients reported significant pain relief & when present; complete relief of weakness & immobility. Importantly, the study showed a positive correlation btwn the improvement on MRI & the reported improvement in pain.”
