How does Triangle Spinal Decompression diagnose a herniated disc?

You’ll receive a thorough physical exam & medical history to determine if a herniated or bulging disc is present. This includes a neurological exam; reflexes, muscle strength, walking ability & ability to feel vibrations, pinpricks & light touches. This careful process is extremely important because the symptoms associated with a herniated disc may be associated with other conditions; osteophytes, metastatic disease, discal/synovial cysts, neurinomas, hematoma & epidural abscesses.

When indicated, we may order advanced imaging; X-rays, CT scan, MRI or Myelogram. Nerve conduction studies & electromyography may be ordered to pinpoint the exact location of nerve damage.

Getting an accurate diagnosis is extremely important because treatment is different depending on the condition! At Triangle Spinal Decompression, we take the time to reach the correct diagnosis, explain your condition & all of your options. Call 919-469-8897
